Under Ohio’s Medicaid HCBS waivers (including PASSPORT, MyCare Ohio, and Level One waivers), Waiver Nursing Services provide skilled nursing care to eligible individuals in their own homes. These services are designed for clients who need a higher level of clinical oversight than personal care alone, but who wish to avoid institutionalization.

What Waiver Nursing Services include:

Our licensed nurses deliver a range of skilled interventions, including:

Medication administration – Injectable medications, IV therapy, and complex medication management

Wound care – Dressing changes, pressure injury prevention, and post-surgical wound monitoring

Catheter care – Insertion, maintenance, and irrigation of urinary catheters

Ostomy care – Teaching and assistance with colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy management

Tube feeding – Gastrostomy (G-tube) or jejunostomy (J-tube) feeding administration

Tracheostomy care – Suctioning, stoma care, and ventilator monitoring as allowed

Diabetic management – Insulin administration, blood glucose monitoring, and foot checks

Health assessments – Vital signs monitoring, medication reconciliation, and fall risk evaluation

Client & caregiver education – Teaching family members how to safely manage ongoing clinical needs
